My name is Nancy Valdovinos Lupian.

I’m an artist and photographer from Riverside, California. I’m also a community organizer and immigrant rights activist. I've been painting and drawing since I was a kid and I started doing photography at the start of 2019. Both art and activism feel like things I came into by accident and now do out of necessity. My activism started with wanting to know how to protect myself and became a means for me to protect others. Both things influence the way I interact with the world whereas drawing and painting are very personal processes that allow me to understand myself, activism allows me to understand others, and photography allows me to document both.
